1. Geology:  Deals with distribution of geological and allied information, planning and monitoring. Co-ordination of mineral investigation projects with Regional Offices through following sections:

1. MAP: Cartography and Map records.

2. PHOTOGEOLOGY AND REMOTE SENSING: Aerial photographic and satellite data coverage of entire state.

3. PETROLOGY: Rock cutting and polishing; thin section mounting and  preparation, petrography & ore microscopy.

4. GEOPHYSICS: Ground geophysical survey (magnetic, resistively,  seismic reflection, IP).

5. CHEMISTRY: Analysis of rock, ore, soil and water samples.

6. SURVEY: Topography, griding and Demarcation.

7. DRILLING: Heavy & light, coring and non-coring drilling machines.

2. Mineral Administration:  To advice Government on mineral policy/legislation/revision of royalty, processing of applications & grant of mineral concessions, appeal, monitoring of mineral revenue collection under MMDR 1957 and MCR 1960.

3. Mineral Concession Cell:  Deals with processing of applications for PL and ML of minerals included in Schedule-I of MMDR 1957. Applications for RP of all minerals are processed and executed in the cell it self.

 4. Mineral Economic Division:  Deals with maintenance of district and mineral wise records of permits/ licences / leases, production of minerals, value, revenue receipts and other related statical information.

Mineral Administration in the State is regulated through Mining Offices/Mining sections located at each District Collectorate under the direct control of District Collectors. Disposal of applications for grant and renewal of various mineral concessions for non schedule Minerals, assessment and collection of rent and royalty, implementation of provisions of various acts and rules related to mines and minerals, prevention and control over Illegal extraction and transportation of mineral commodity etc. are the main job carried out through district Mining Offices/Mining sections.
